My Temporary Working Space

Normally my workstation is in the 1st floor, but my husband was the opinion in our livingroom it is much warmer and cosier. That is right, sometimes I had such cold fingers I couldn't hold the scissors. My studio in the first floor is the best place in summertime, window southwards and with extra table.
BUT ... you know, Christmas is coming and I started to wonder where to put the Christmas tree, because I use exactly the space where it normally stands. I can see where this will lead ... carrying all my stuff in the 1st floor again. *sigh*
Ok, but here are pictures from my working place and my sewing machine. Currently I am cutting the fabrics to size on the coffee table. Not the best for my back, but the other table had no space in the living room.

My sewing machine is over 20 years old and I have to face the fact that I will need a new one in the near future. She is making sometimes some strange noises. There are so many new and terrific makes available, it will take so much time to look around and find the right machine. I really hope my 'elna' will live forever!

My Businesscards Are Beautiful

Finally got my businesscard equipment. Not only cards but also address stickers, postcards, thankyou cards and scratchpad. I ordered the stuff at vistaprint for free, I only had to pay shipping. I am very pleased about the result. I love it!

On St. Martin's Day every child got a lantern

While Martin was still a soldier at Amiens he experienced the vision that became the most-repeated story about his life. He was at the gates of the city of Amiens with his soldiers when he met a scantily dressed beggar. He impulsively cut his own military cloak in half and shared it with the beggar. That night he dreamed of Jesus wearing the half-cloak Martin had given away. He heard Jesus say to the angels: "Here is Martin, the Roman soldier who is not baptised; he has clad me." 

On St. Martin's Day, children in Austria participate in paper lantern processions. Often, a man dressed as St. Martin rides on a horse in front of the procession. The children sing songs about St. Martin and about their lanterns. The food traditionally eaten on the day is goose. According to legend, Martin was reluctant to become bishop, which is why he hid in a stable filled with geese. The noise made by the geese betrayed his location to the people who were looking for him. (Source Wikipedia)

My Hometown

This is where I live. I love this village (2908 inhabitants). We have a wonderful landscape, large city is just around the corner. But all I need for living I can buy here. Kindergarden and school are around. I live in the center of the village therefore I need no car to make my shopping or bring my kid to playground, kindergarden or friends. I am very happy to live here!
