The Ravages Of Time - Der Zahn der Zeit

Tja, 40 Jahre kam ich ohne aus, aber seit letzter Woche brauche ich eine Lesebrille. Der Augenarzt versicherte mir, dass es ganz normal wäre, wenn man ab einem gewissen Alter weitsichtig wird. Ha! Danke auch! Dafür habe ich mir auch ein schickes (und AUA-teures) Teil ausgesucht.
Hab mir auch ein tolles Buch gegönnt: The Bag Making Bible

Well, for 40 years I didn't need them but since last week I got reading glasses. The eye doctor assured me that it would be quite normal when you reach a certain age. Ha! Thank you! But I picked out some very chic and expensive specs.

Habe soeben davon gehört und darüber gelesen und bin total fasziniert von dieser Idee. Bookcrossing ist das "Freilassen" von Büchern "in die Wildnis", um dann ihre Reise zu verfolgen - und von denjenigen zu hören, die mit ihm in Kontakt kamen. Man registriert ein Buch auf dieser Website und lässt es dann im Café, in der Bahn oder im Park liegen und hofft, dass es ein Bücherfreund findet, mitnimmt, liest und vielleicht auf bookcrossing.de einen Eintrag macht.
Das ist spannend und gibt dem Lesen einen zusätzlichen Reiz. Und es ist eine gute Methode Bücher "loszuwerden", die nur den Platz wegnehmen.

Have just heard and read about it and I am totally fascinated by this idea. Bookcrossing is the act of giving a book a unique identity so, as the book is passed from reader to reader, it can be tracked and thus connecting its readers. Register a book on this website and then 'forget' it in a café, on the train or in the park and hope that it will be found by a bookfriend, who will read the book and perhaps makes an entry at bookcrossing.com. 
This is exciting and gives reading an additional attraction. And it is a good method to "get rid" of books that only take space.

Crochet Button - Häkelknopf

Ich habe das HIER mal gesehen und wollte das immer schon mal ausprobieren. Das richtige Projekt ergab sich, als meine Kleine einen zu großen Bademantel bekam und er vorne rum immer auseinanderfiel. Also musste ein Knopf her.

I saw this HERE and always wanted to try it before. The right project came when my little one got a too big dressing gown and the front always fell apart. So I needed a button.

Das Innenleben besteht aus einer Beilagscheibe aus Edelstahl, damit sie beim Waschen nicht rostet. Rundherum häkeln, der Fantasie kann man freien Lauf lassen.

The interior consists of a washer made of stainless steel so it do not rust when washed. Crocheting all around, you can let your imagination run wild.

Die Fäden habe ich auf der Rückseite alle zusammen geflochten und daraus eine Halteschlaufe gemacht.

I braided the threads in the back together and made a loop.

Zum Verschließen nähte ich eine Schlaufe aus Schrägband auf der anderen Seite an.

For closure I made a loop of bias tape on the other side.

Fertig!
