With Striezel in Austria is meant yeast braid and I just made yesterday my first one. And it is so simple and so incredibly tasty! Baked according to the recipe "Friedas ingenious yeast braid" (in German), which is also suitable for the bread baking machine, if you use half the ingredients. However, I used a mixture of wheat and spelt flour and added raisins. The recipe also includes a video, where both the processing is explained with a kitchen aid machine as well as with the bread baking machine and also various kinds of braiding. Ingenious indeed!
