Monatscollage Februar 2026

Monatsrückblick für Februar: 

1. Im Februar hatten wir öfter in Wien zu tun und im Café Prückel kann man schön Frühstücken und Mittagessen. 
2. Seit meine Tochter (20) im 1. Stock ihre eigenen Räume hat, habe ich mir ihr altes Spielzimmer/Büro zu meinem Salon umgewandelt. Dafür habe ich mir ein Wandtuch mit Motiv geleistet, damit in dem winzigen Zimmer sowas wie Weite entsteht. Gefällt mir so gut.
3. Mein Mann und ich haben zwei Tage Spa eingelegt. Diesmal in einem Ayurveda-Hotel. Es war einfach nur göttlich. Gourmetessen rund um die Uhr und sich verwöhnen lassen. Bitte mehr davon.
4. Meine bevorzugte Lemon Curd Marke ist leider nicht mehr erhältlich. Also habe ich es selbst gemacht. Fazit: Ich brauche meine bevorzugte Lemon Curd Marke nicht mehr. Schmeckt selbst gemacht viel besser und ist so einfach zu machen :)
5. Ach ja Winter hat auch noch mal kurz für zwei Tage vorbei geschaut. War schön, aber jetzt ist Frühling angesagt.
6. Eins meiner Weihnachtsgeschenke war ein Candlelight-Konzert und zwar ABBA meets Queen. Das klassische Konzert fand im Palais Coburg in Wien in den Kasematten (historischer Festungskeller) statt und war außergewöhnlich.
7. Wieder ein Termin in Wien und meine Tochter und ich mussten bis zum Abend auf eine Mitfahrgelegenheit nach Hause warten (also auf meinen Mann). Was macht man mit einer Tagesfahrkarte in Wien, natürlich zuerst Straßenbahnfahren (Linie D) [Musik im Kopf: Dieser Tag fährt Straßenbahn - Mondscheiner] und dann ins Schloss Belvedere und sich die Klimt-Ausstellung anschauen. Sehr schön!
8. Ich wünsche mir ein neues Speisegeschirr und suche schon Jahre und ich bin total unentschlossen. Wieder für Jahre das gleiche Muster. Nein. Das war mal. Also kaufe ich jetzt einfach einzelne Teller, die mir gefallen. Einige habe ich schon und ich liebe jeden einzelnen. Diesmal habe ich einen Teller gefunden mit Häuschen am Rand entlang. Ich liebe Häuschen. Ist er nicht bezaubernd? Da musste ich doch gleich Toast mit pochiertem Ei und Guacamole darauf in Szene setzen.
9. Mein Schneeglöckchen direkt vor Küchenfenster. Es kommt jedes Jahr. Immer nur dieses eine. Irgendein Vogel oder ein Mäuslein hat hier mal ein Samenkorn fallen lassen. Danke :)

A retrospect of February: 

1. In February, we were in Vienna quite often, and Café Prückel is a lovely place for breakfast and lunch.
2. Since my daughter (20) got her own rooms on the first floor, I've transformed her old playroom/office into my salon. I treated myself to a wall hanging with a Greek island scene to create a sense of spaciousness in the tiny room. I love it! 
3. My husband and I treated ourselves to two days of spa treatments. This time at an Ayurveda hotel. It was simply divine. Gourmet food around the clock and being pampered. More of that, please! 
4. My favorite brand of lemon curd is unfortunately no longer available. So I made it myself. Conclusion: I don't need my favorite brand of lemon curd anymore. Homemade tastes so much better and is so easy to make :) 
5. Oh yes, winter also made a brief return for two days. It was lovely, but now it's time for spring to come. 
6. One of my Christmas presents was a candlelight concert: ABBA meets Queen. The classical concert took place in the casemates (historic fortress cellars) of Palais Coburg in Vienna and was exceptional. 
7. Another appointment in Vienna, and my daughter and I had to wait until evening for a ride home (i.e. for my husband). So what does one do with a day ticket in Vienna? First, of course, take the tram (line D) and then go to Belvedere Palace to see the Klimt exhibition. Lovely! 
8. I've been wanting new dinnerware for years and I'm totally undecided. The same pattern for years again? No. So now I just buy individual plates that I like. I already have a few, and I love every single one. This time I found a plate with little houses around the rim. I love little houses. Isn't it charming? I just had to put toast with a poached egg and guacamole on it. 
9. My snowdrop right outside the kitchen window. It comes back every year. Always just this one. Some bird or mouse must have dropped a seed here. Thank you :)
