DIY Couchtisch - Coffee Table

Mein Sommerprojekt ist fertig und gut geworden. In einer Wohnzeitschrift habe ich gesehen, wie ein einfacher Küchentisch zu einem wunderschönen Couchtisch umgewandelt wurde. Ich habe vor in Zukunft das Wohnzimmer umzugestalten und da braucht es einen anderen Couchtisch. Jetzt passt er vielleicht noch nicht so gut dazu, aber mit dem neuen Sofa und der Wandfarbe schon. Also habe ich über eine Secondhand Verkaufsplattform einen handwerklich wunderbaren alten Küchentisch für 30 Euro erstanden und losgelegt.

My summer project is finished and turned out well. In an interior design magazine I saw how a simple kitchen table was transformed into a beautiful coffee table. I plan to redesign the living room in the future and I need a different coffee table. It may not fit in well now, but with the new sofa and the wall color, it will. So I bought a beautifully crafted old kitchen table for 30 EUR (32 USD) on a second-hand sales platform and got started. 

Wir sägten die Beine bis zur gewünschten Höhe ab, dann habe ich den Tisch abgebeizt und abgeschliffen, Holzzierelemente aufgeklebt und dann mit Kreidefarbe gestrichen, mit Klarlack lackiert und neue Ladengriffe und Metallzierelemente angebracht. Durch die geschlossenen Laden und die offene Lade auf der Rückseite, bietet er genug Stauraum für das ganze Krimskrams, das sonst auf der Tischplatte herumliegt und dann immer so unordentlich aussieht. Wir lieben ihn.

We cut the legs down to the desired height, then I stripped and sanded the table, glued on wooden trim and then painted it with chalk paint, varnished it with clear varnish and added new drawer handles and metal trim. Thanks to the closed drawers and the open drawer on the back, it offers enough storage space for all the odds and ends that otherwise lie around on the table top and always look so messy. We love it. 

Kosten: Secondhand Tisch: 30 Euro, Material (Farbe und Zierelemente) 96 Euro = ~ 126 Euro gesamt

Costs: Second hand table: 32 USD, material (color and decorative elements) 102 USD = ~ 135 USD total
