I did it again! Ich hab wieder einen Flaschengarten gemacht. And I love it! Ich hatte noch ein zweites Riesenglas, das sich hervorragend für einen Minigarten im Glas eignet. Im Gartencenter findet man bezaubernde kleine Pflanzen, die man mit Deko zu einer spannenden kleinen Miniwelt arrangieren kann. Meinen 1. Flaschengarten findet ihr HIER.
I did it again! I made another bottle garden. And I love it! I had a second giant glass jar that is ideal for a mini garden in a glass. Und nun kommt ein heißer TIPP, der eigentlich für alle Zimmerpflanzen gilt. Bitte vertraut nicht darauf, dass in gekaufter Topferde keine Schädlinge drin sind. Das habe ich auf die harte Tour gelernt. In meinem 1. Glas hatte ich nach einer Woche eine Trauermückenplage apokalyptischen Ausmaßes. Ich habe mir gelbe Klebefallen besorgt, aber auch nach Wochen wurde der Befall nicht weniger. Also habe ich alles aus dem Glas wieder rausgeholt. Die Erde und den Sand entsorgt, Pflanzen und Steine und weitere Deko sorgfältig abgewaschen und von Erde befreit. Und bevor ich das Glas wieder befüllt habe, habe ich neue Erde und Sand im Backrohr bei 200 Grad etwa 30 Minuten gebacken. Dadurch sollen alle Eier und Schädlinge abgetötet werden (habe ich im Internet gelesen). Außerdem habe ich auch bei den neuen kleinen Pflanzen für das 2. Glas, die Erde abgemacht und abgewaschen, damit ich mir nichts ins Glas einschleppe. Ich hoffe, die Vorsichtsmaßnahmen fruchten.

ReplyDeleteHi Yvonne, first I buy 2 or 3 little plants and then collecting some decoration in or around the house. And somehow while doing it and filling in gravel and soil and putting all in, a new little world appears. It's magic :)

Hej Ulrike! Ja das macht man nur einmal mit, dann weiß man Bescheid. Hat mir nur keiner gesagt, sonst hätte ich die Erde vorher gebacken. Ich topfe eher ganz selten um, weil ich nicht soviele Topfpflanzen habe. Je größer der Garten, desto weniger Pflanzen im Haus :)

such a cute little bottle garden. I had an indoor plant recently that was eaten by whatever came in the soil. Ugh. Do the plants get wet feet. How do you monitor the watering. Enjoy your week. I am joining you at My Corner of the World linkup.
ReplyDeleteHi Jill! I put gravel and sand at the bottom of the glass and then the soil. This means the plants don’t get wet feet. If the jar doesn't have a lid, like mine, then water evaporates, which I prefer at the moment because I don't have any experience with a self-regulating system. But once a week I add some water. I also notice when the plants let their leaves droop.

ReplyDeleteDein Tipp ist wirklich auch sehr gut, daran habe ich noch gar nicht gedacht. Aber mir fällt bei der Gelegenheit ein, wie unsere selbst gezogenen Tomatenpflanzen, die wirklich noch sehr klein waren, über Nacht im Schuppen einfach verschwunden sind, jedenfalls die meisten. Vielleicht war da ja auch ein Schädling in der gekauften Anzuchterde...

Hi Wolfgang! Ja das kann immer mal wieder passieren. Auch wenn es teure hochwertige Qualität ist, kann es sein, dass da mal ein fliegender Schädling seine Eier in die Erde vorm Verpacken ablegt.

I am a fan of Terrarium , although I had hard luck maintaining and surviving a terrarium . I like your choices of deploying succulents in terrarium and especially fittonia in the terrarium . Thanks for sharing with Garden affair.
