Monatscollage November 2023

Monatsrückblick für November:

1. Es ist noch ein Foto von Madeira dabei, wo wir unseren letzten Urlaub verbracht haben. Der reichte in den November hinein. Zu sehen ist eine Küstenlandschaft im Westen des Landes. Mehr von der Reise auf diese wunderschöne Insel könnt ihr HIER sehen. 
2. Ich gestehe ich probiere gerne Rezeptideen von Instagram aus. Manche sind so genial einfach wie dieses Langos ähnliche Fladenbrot. Nur ist es kein Brot, sondern ein mit Öl, Knoblauch und Parmesan belegtes Tortilla. Ein paar Minuten im Backrohr und man hat einen knusprigen Snack. Je länger man sie backt, desto mehr wie Chips. 
3. Schokobrötchen habe ich auch nachgebacken. So fluffig und herrlich. Mehr dazu gibt's in meinem Instagram. 
4. Die traurigste Sache dieses Monats war das Ableben unserer geliebten Katze "Hello Kitty". Sie war leider sehr krank. Unglaublich wie groß die Lücke ist, die sie hinterläßt. Ein Drama. Bei uns und auch bei Benno, unserem Hund. Mehr mag ich gar nicht dazu sagen. 
5. Die Weintrauben waren reif und ich habe sie zu Traubengelee verarbeitet. Das schmeckt uns allen sehr gut. 
6. Ich habe eine zu weite Jeans für meine Tochter enger genäht und das ist mir ganz gut gelungen. Mehr dazu HIER. 
7. Meine Tochter hat in ihrer Schule das Unterrichtsfach Kochen. Sie hasst es. Zuhause kocht sie nicht freiwillig. Sie muss jedoch für ihren Abschluss auch eine Kochprüfung machen und voller Widerwillen übt sie jetzt daheim einige Rezepte durch. Das Ergebnis ist aber immer sehr gut. Es mag ihr an Interesse und Lust zu Kochen mangeln, aber die Resultate sind köstlich. 
8. Diesmal habe ich mir was Neues für den Adventskalender ausgedacht. Bisher hing nur Süßes dran, das ich besorgt und drangemacht habe. Das wollte ich nicht mehr. Wir sind zu dritt und jeder war für acht Sackerl verantwortlich. Ausdrücklich war nicht nur Schokolade gewünscht, sondern auch günstige andere Kleinigkeiten. Das löste großes Kopfzerbrechen bei Tochter und Mann aus, aber dennoch war der Adventskalender schon eine Woche vorher bestückt und die Neugier groß. 
9. Außerdem habe ich mich noch erinnert, dass ich Süßkartoffel im Beet habe. Die Ernte war aber enttäuschend. Erde oder Klima passt anscheinend nicht so gut bei uns. 
10. Und es hat geschneit. Aber so richtig. Auch bei uns im Flachland. Ich freue mich jedesmal darüber. Im Garten schaut es schön aus. Auf der Straße brauche ich keinen Schnee.

A retrospect of November: 

1. There is another picture of Madeira, where we spent our last vacation. You can see a coastal landscape in the west of the country. You can see more of the trip to this beautiful island HERE. 
2. I admit I like to try out recipe ideas from Instagram. Some are as brilliantly simple as these langos-like flatbreads. Only it's not bread, but a tortilla topped with oil, garlic and parmesan. A few minutes in the oven and you have a crispy snack. The longer you bake them, the more like chips they become.
3. I also baked chocolate rolls. So fluffy and wonderful. You can find out more about this in my Instagram.
4. The saddest thing this month was the passing of our beloved cat, Hello Kitty. Unfortunately she was very ill. It's unbelievable how big the gap is that she leaves behind. A painful loss for us and our dog Benno. I don't want to say anything more about it.
5. The grapes were ripe and I made them into grape jelly. We all like it very much.
6. I altered a pair of jeans that were too wide for my daughter and I managed it quite well. More about this HERE.
7. My daughter has cooking as a subject at school. She hates it. At home she doesn't cook voluntarily. However, she also has to take a cooking test to graduate and, reluctantly, she is now practicing some recipes at home. But the result is always very good. She may lack interest and desire to cook, but the meals are delicious.
8. This time I came up with something new for the Advent calendar. So far there have only been sweets hanging on it, which I got and put on. I didn't want that anymore. There were three of us and each was responsible for eight bags. Not only chocolate was specifically requested, but also other inexpensive little things. This caused a lot of headaches for daughter and husband, but the Advent calendar had already been stocked a week in advance and curiosity was great.
9. I also remembered that I have sweet potatoes in the garden bed. But the harvest was disappointing. The soil or climate doesn't seem to suit them very well.
10. And it snowed. A lot. Even here in the lowlands. I'm happy about it every time. It looks beautiful in the backyard. But I don't need snow on the street.
