Playmat and Fabric Flowers - Spielmatte und Stoffblumen

So, heute komme ich zur Auflösung der gestrigen Frage. Aus den Zutaten habe ich Stoffblumen gemacht. Ich wollte die Blumen etwas fluffiger haben und habe bei manchen die Kreise zu einem Viertel gelegt und aus vier Teilen wieder einen ganzen Kreis gemacht. Dann bekommt das Blümchen mehr Volumen. Wenn man wie ich nicht so viele Knöpfe hat, kann man auch Perlen zum Verzieren nehmen.

So, this is the answer of yesterday's question. From the ingredients I made fabric flowers. I wanted the flowers to be higher so I folded some circles down to a quarter and four parts of them made a complete circle. Then the flower gets more volume. If you do not have so many buttons, you can also take beads for decoration.

Dieses süße Häkelprojekt habe ich leider erst nach Ostern geschafft. Macht aber nix, die Kleine hat sich auch jetzt drüber gefreut.

Northern Hare and Black Sheep - Schneehase und Schwarzes Schaf

Heute nochmal Eiersuchen und Osterjause, dann ist es geschafft. Gestern war mein Mädchen kurz verzweifelt, weil es plötzlich ziemlich schneite und sie Angst hatte, dass sie die Ostereier und Süßigkeiten unter der Schneedecke nicht mehr finden könnte. Aber nach ein paar Minuten war das Schneetreiben vorbei und es blieb kein Schnee liegen. 

Den Teig für die beiden süßen hab ich geteilt und in eine Hälfte Kakao gerührt, daher schaut das Lämmchen etwas dunkler aus. Und morgen muss ich unbedingt einen Fasttag einlegen, das Wochenende war kulinarisch wieder etwas heftig-deftig ;)

Now again Easter egg hunt and snacks, then it's done. Yesterday, my girl was just desperate because it was snowing quite suddenly and she was afraid that she couldn’t find Easter eggs and candies in the snow no longer. But after a few minutes the snow was gone.

I put cocoa in the dough for the sheep therefore it looks a little darker. And tomorrow I'll make a fast day, I was eating way too much this Easter weekend but that’s what feasts are for ;)

Das Kissen ist fertig! Morgen wird es von meinem Patenmäderl im Garten gefunden werden.

My Creative Space

Die Gartenarbeit nimmt mich momentan sehr in Anspruch. Himmel, was habe ich für einen Muskelkater. Meine Hände sind total zerkratzt und zerstochen. Was ziehe ich auch nie Handschuhe an. Und dann sind ja auch noch Ferien und traumhaftes Wetter, da bin ich lieber mit der Kleinen im Garten.
Trotzdem muss ich mich sputen, damit ich dieses Kissen noch bis Ostersonntag fertig bekomme. Inspiriert haben mit diesmal die Arbeiten von HIER. (Pinterest Link)

The garden takes my complete attention at the moment. OMG, I have sore muscles. My hands are totally scratched and pricked all over. I really need to wear garden gloves. And then there are holidays and fantastic weather, I'd rather be in the garden with my girlie.

NO TV Addendum

Ich habe ja schon lange von TV die Nase voll und wollte schon mal HIER Schritte in Richtung Abstinenz setzen. Die Probephase war ja ein totaler Erfolg. Wir haben uns darauf geeinigt, dass die erste Woche im Monat fernsehfrei ist. Meine Kleine glaubt immer, dass der Fernseher frei hat ;) Und ich sag’s euch, das ist die schönste Woche im Monat. Der Zwerg ist 6 Jahre und spielt stundenlang (!) alleine im Spielzimmer, räumt alle Spiele um und hin und her und verliert sich von einem Spiel ins andere. Oder sie spielt so richtig schön mit dem Hund. Nie kommt wie sonst nach kurzer Zeit die Frage: „Darf ich was schauen?“. Der Zeitdruck fällt total weg, weil man nicht zu einer bestimmten Zeit fertig sein muss, weil eine Sendung beginnt. Herrlich!

Das gleiche gilt natürlich auch für uns Erwachsene. Zwei Abende gehen drauf für Buchhaltung und Ablage und sonstiges. Aber dann wird meistens bis Mitternacht gezockt. Canasta oder auch Carcassonne oder Siedler von Catan (wir haben jede! Erweiterung).

Ich sage ja nicht, dass Mann und Kind nicht gemault hätten (oder jedes Mal maulen, wenn ich sage, ab morgen wieder fernsehfrei), aber letztendlich akzeptierten sie es schon.

For a long time I've enough of watching TV and I have already set steps HERE toward TV abstinence. The trial period was a total success. We have agreed that the first week of the month is TV free. My little one always thinks that the TV is on vacation ;) And I'm telling you, that's the best week of the month. The dwarf is 6 years old and plays for hours (!) alone in the playroom, goes through her toys back and forth and lost herself in playing. Or she plays really nice with the dog. Never comes the question as usual after a short time: "May I watch anything?". The time pressure is completely eliminated because nothing at any given time must be done cause a TV show starts. Great!
The same is true for us adults. Two evenings are spent for bookkeeping and filing and other items. But then we are mostly gambling until midnight. Canasta or Carcassonne or Settlers of Catan (we have every! extension game).
I'm not saying that husband and child would not have grumbled (or grumble every time I say that from tomorrow on is TV free) but finally they accepted it.

Kid's Point Of View - Die Welt durch Kinderaugen

Meine Kleine liebt es zu Fotografieren. Meistens ist sie schneller unterwegs als die Kamera es schafft scharf zu stellen, aber manchmal klappt es. Von den Hunderten Fotos, die sie in 20 Minuten macht, habe ich ein paar ausgesucht. Ohne Worte ...

My little one loves to take pictures. Usually she is faster than the camera manages to focus on but sometimes it works out. Of the hundreds of photos she took in about 20 minutes, I've chosen a few. Without words ...

Fish With Pink Dots - Fisch mit rosa Punkten

Heute gibt's Saibling. Am Vormittag vom Fischzüchter aus der Region geholt, zu Mittag auf dem Teller. 

For lunch today there is char (salvelinus). Bought at a local fish farmer in the morning, at noon on the plate.

Ganz einfach mit Knoblauch, Butter und Petersilie im Backrohr gebraten und mit Kartoffeln und grünem Salat als Beilage. 

Quite simply with garlic, butter and parsley, baked in the oven with potatoes and green salad as side dish.

Chai Latte

Mann, warum hat mir denn keiner gesagt, dass das Zeug so gut schmeckt? Also gut, eigentlich habt ihr das eh alle gesagt, aber geglaubt habe ich es nicht. Naja, ich bin etwas opportunistisch angehaucht. Wenn alle etwas machen oder gut finden, erscheint mir das Gegenteil gerade gut. Meine Eltern mussten nie Angst haben, dass ich dem Gruppenzwang unterliege ;)

Im Zuge eines fiesen Brech-Durchfall-Virus vor einigen Tagen, habe ich mich wieder an schwarzen Tee gehalten. Normalerweise Twinings Ceylon Orange Pekoe Tea mit Milch. Der ging mir gestern aus und im Supermarktregal lachte mich auf einmal die Schachtel Chai Latte an.

Und das Gebräu schmeckt mir wahnsinnig gut. Wäre ich mal früher mit dem Mainstream geschwommen, dann würde ich den Chai Latte schon länger genießen.

Oh boy, why hasn’t anyone told me that the stuff tastes so good? Well, actually you did before but I didn’t believe it. Well, I am the opportunistic kind of girl. If all do the same or find something good the opposite seems the better for me. My parents never had to worry that I join peer pressure ;)
As part of a nasty puke-diarrhea-virus a few days ago, I was drinking black tea. Twinings Ceylon Orange Pekoe tea with milk. Yesterday I was in the supermarket to get some more tea and suddenly I saw this chai latte tea package.
And the brew tastes incredibly good. If I would have swam with the mainstream earlier, then I would already enjoy the chai latte tea for some time.

Re-purposing Old T-Shirts

Ich hab mal wieder Hot Pants produziert. Höschen aus alten T-Shirts! Cleveres Recycling! Also hab ich ein altes Lieblingsshirt meiner Kleinen gleich einer neuen Verwendung zugeführt.

Once again I produced hot pants. Pants out of old T-shirts! Clever and eco! So I grabbed an old favorite shirt of my girlie and re-purposed it into underpants.

My First Men's Shirt

Ich habe das erste Mal ein Shirt für meinen Mann genäht und er liebt es. Was will man mehr? Ist der Kunde zufrieden bin ich es auch. Grundschnitt war Föhr. Ein super Schnitt, den ich nur verlängern musste, da mein Mann sehr groß ist.

I made a shirt for the first time for my husband and he loves it. What more could you want? If the customer is happy I am too. A great pattern that I had to cut a little bit longer because my husband is very tall.

Crochet Hat - Häkelmützchen

Ich habe ja schon mal für meine Kleine ein Mützchen gehäkelt. Meiner Nachbarin hat sie so gut gefallen, dass sie sich für ihre beiden Mädchen auch welche gewünscht hat. Allerdings nur in weiß und mit einer Häkelblume, weil sie zu einem schon vorhandenen Outfit dazupassen soll. 

I've crocheted some time ago a cap for my little one. My neighbor liked it so much that she ordered some for her two girls. However only in white and with a crocheted flower, because they hats should match to an existing outfit.

Spring - Frühling

Endlich Frühling! Ja, er beginnt heute schon und angeblich soll das noch viele Jahre so bleiben. Das schöne ist, dass er nicht nur auf dem Kalender beginnt, sondern auch wenn man aus dem Fenster schaut. Heute ist wieder ein herrlicher Tag und es sprießt und grünt.

Finally Spring! Yes, it starts already today and it is supposed to continue for many years to come. The fine thing is that it starts not only on the calendar, but also if you look out of the window. Today is a beautiful day and it sprouts and greens.

My Creative Space

Ich habe mich endlich drüber getraut und ein Shirt für meinen Mann zugeschnitten. So lange habe ich drüber gegrübelt wie ich die Farbgestaltung und Dekoration mache und so nach und nach kommen die Ideen, aber sehr schleppend. Irgendwas möchte ich an den Ärmeln noch machen, so schaut's langweilig aus. Und zum Glück habe ich auch das OK meines Mannes bekommen, der hat sich nur vergewissert, dass ich ihm kein Häkelblümchen unterjuble ;)

I finally dared and cut a shirt for my husband. Long time I was pondering over the colors and decoration and the ideas come very slowly. Something I want to make on the sleeves, looks boring at the moment. And luckily I have the OK from my husband who has just made sure that I will not put a crocheted flower on it ;)

Crochet Veggies - Häkelgemüse

Hab was Neues für mich entdeckt und es macht soviel Spaß! Ich häkle jetzt Obst und Gemüse oder Kuchen und fertige Speisen für die Kinderküche meiner Kleinen. Und es geht ratzfatz. Für die Pilze brauchte ich 15 Minuten und auch die anderen Dinge sind super schnell gemacht. Diese Sachen eignen sich wieder sehr gut, um Wollreste zu verarbeiten. Da kann es schon sein, dass die Farben nicht 100%-ig passen, aber ich kaufe dafür keine neue Wolle. Ich verwende auch alle Qualitäten und nicht nur Baumwollgarne. Es macht echt Spaß und meine Kleine liebt die neue Ausstattung. Als nächstes werde ich Salat, Äpfel und Muffins machen und außerdem noch ... 
Das Buch "100 kleine Häkelideen" ist echt klasse! Ich empfehle jedoch die Anleitung vorher ganz durchzulesen und auch durch zu denken, denn manche Schritte kann man vereinfachen und effizienter arbeiten. 
Tipp: Fäden immer so früh wie möglich vernähen! Bananen und Pilze sind so eng, dass man das Werkstück (fast) nicht mehr wenden kann. 

I've got something new for me and that is so much fun! Now I crochet cakes and fruit and vegetables and ready meals for my girlie’s kitchen. And it goes very quickly. The mushroom took about 15 minutes and the other things are done super fast. These things are very good to process wool remnants. It may be that the colors are not fit 100% but I do not buy new wool. I also use all yarn qualities and not only cotton yarns. It's really fun and my little girl loves the new equipment. Next, I'll make salad, apples and muffins and ...

Pretty in Pink

Nachdem ich schon sooo viele Tüddelkissen auf euren Blogs gesehen habe, musste ich meiner Kleinen auch so ein Teil machen. Allerdings für einen Kopfpolster in 80x60 cm, der auf dem Matratzenlager im Spielzimmer liegt. Auf was steht ein 6-jähriges Mädchen? Rosa und Lila natürlich. Tut schon fast weh in den Augen.

After I've seen sooo many embellished pillows on your blogs, I had to make one too. However, for a pillow about at 31x23 inches, which is lying on the mattresses camp in the playroom. What loves a 6-year-old girl? Pink and purple, of course. It almost hurts the eyes. 

Creative With Heart - Kreativ mit Herz

Die Fernsehwoche hat ein Kreativheft gemacht und ICH BIN MIT DABEI !!! "Kreativ mit Herz" ist ein tolles Heft mit vielen inspirierenden Ideen. Die Redakteurin hat bei DaWanda gestöbert und 30 Kreative ausgewählt für ihr erstes Heft. Ich konnte es kaum fassen, dass ich mit dabei bin. 

The TV week magazine launches a new creative journal and I AM FEATURED! "Creative with Heart" is a great magazine with many inspirational ideas. The editor has browsed through DaWanda and selected 30 artists for their first issue. I couldn’t believe that I am with it.

Ausgesucht wurden meine behäkelten Steine. Distanzieren möchte ich mich gleich von der Aussage, dass ich das "erfunden" hätte. Habe ich nie behauptet, aber da das bei allen dabeisteht, dürfte es wohl eine Layoutsache sein. Ich habe nie einen Vorabdruck bekommen. Außerdem haben sie aus meinen Findelsteinen 'Eier' gemacht, passt wohl besser zur Osterzeit. Ich freue mich einfach wahnsinnig, dass jemandem meine Arbeiten unter Tausenden DaWanda-Künstlern aufgefallen sind. 

They choose my crocheted stones. I would like to retreat from the statement that I "invented" that product. I have never said that, but because these words are published with every artists picture, it is probably a layout thing. I have never received a preprint. They have also called my stones 'eggs', well, fits better at Easter time. I'm just thrilled and happy that someone noticed my work amongst thousands of artists at DaWanda.

Das Heft kann ich euch wirklich empfehlen. Momentan bekommt man es als Doppelpack mit der Fernsehwoche.

Colouraplast Fun

Bei Leni Farbenfroh gesehen und sofort nachgemacht! Ich kannte Colouraplast oder Schmelzolan noch nicht. Es ist sehr einfach zu machen und die Resultate sind immer gelungen und schön. Allerdings ist diese Bastelei nur empfehlenswert, wenn 'Offene-Fenster-Saison' ist, da das Zeug erbärmlich stinkt beim Schmelzvorgang. Ich habe gelesen, dass es bei weniger Temperatur (120°C) nicht mehr stinkt (dafür dauert es länger), aber das habe ich noch nicht ausprobiert. 

Seen at Leni Farbenfrohs blog and immediately copied! I didn’t know this material yet. It is very easy to make and the results are always well done and beautiful. However, this tinkering is only recommended if it is 'open-window-season' because that stuff stinks miserably during the melting process. I've read that if there is less temperature (248°F) it does not smell (therefore it takes longer), but I haven’t tried yet.

My Creative Space - Was ich gerade mache

Mal abgesehen davon, dass ich unzählige Dinge anfange. Ich weiß nicht, liegt das am Frühling? Konzentration und Motivation fallen mir momentan furchtbar schwer. Aber begeistern kann ich mich für alles und beginne auch meistens sofort damit. Ich glaube das ist die Reizüberflutung durch das Internet. Eine tolle Idee jagt die andere und ich will alles machen und ausprobieren. Meine UFO's (UnFertiges Objekt) könnten schon eine eigene Stadt gründen. Das muss ich echt bald in den Griff bekommen. Demnächst beginnt die Gartensaison, da hab ich dann noch weniger Zeit. Habt ihr UFO's auch schon mal aufgegeben, in die Tonne verfrachtet, was anderes draus gemacht?

Aside from the fact that I start countless things. I do not know, is this spring fever? Concentration and motivation at the moment is terribly difficult for me. But there is enthusiasm for everything and I usually start with new projects immediately. I believe that is the overstimulation through the internet. One great idea after the other and I want to do everything. My UFO's (UnFinished Object) could even start their own city. I really must get this under control. Gardening season starts soon, so I will have even less time. Have you ever given up UFO's, throw it in the garbage can, made something else out of it?

Making New From Old - Aus alt mach neu

Mein Mädchen stöberte in meinem Wäscheschrank und sie fand zwei uralte Nachthemden von mir, die ich in meinen Zwanzigern trug, aber durch ihre Kürze leider nicht mehr mit meinen Oberschenkel kombinierbar sind ;)
Also setzte ich kurzerhand beherzt den Cutter an und nähte ratzfatz zwei Nachthemden für mein Mädchen. Oder auch Freizeitkleidchen für den Garten oder was auch immer. Ihr gefällt's, sind ja Rüschen dran.

My girl rummaged in my linen closet and found two ancient nightgowns of mine that I wore in my twenties, but the shortness of the shirts can no longer be combined with my thighs ;)

So I took spirited my rotary cutter and sewed quickly two nightgowns for my girlie. Or spare time dresses for the garden or whatever. She likes them, they have ruffles.

Hot Pants

Ich bin begeistert! Meine Kleine liebt ihre neuen Höschen! Die Hot Pants (nach dem gleichnamigen eBook) sind blitzschnell genäht und so süß. Die Zwickellösung habe ich mir von mamachica abgeschaut.

I'm thrilled! My girlie loves her new underwear! Sewn quick as a flash and so sweet. The gusset solution I picked up from mamachica. 

Fat Tuesday - Faschingsdienstag

Was in Deutschland der Rosenmontag, ist in Österreich der Faschingsdienstag. Der letzte Tag des Faschings wird hier nochmal ausgiebig gefeiert. Ich bin ja nicht so für das Faschingstreiben, schon als Kind mochte ich das nicht so besonders. Aber meine Kleine verkleidet sich gerne und malt sich auch gerne an. Heute ist im Kindergarten "Pyjamaparty". Das war ja wohl einfach zu machen. Aber wir waren auch Eisprinzessin und Burgfräulein.

What's the Rose Monday in Germany, is Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) in Austria. The last day of Carnival is celebrated here extensively. I'm so not for the carnival, even as a child I did not like it so much. But my little girl likes dressing up and painting her face. Today in kindergarten is "Pajama Party". That was easy to do. But we were also ice princess and damsel.

Ostern steht vor der Tür! Zu meiner Häschenform kamen ein Lämmchen und eine große Herzform dazu. Die Hasenform habe ich meiner Mama abgeschwatzt. Mit der hat sie schon für uns Kinder zu Ostern Biskuithasis gebacken.

Easter is coming! My bunny baking pan got company from a lamb and a large heart shaped pan. The rabbit baking dish I wheedled out my mother. With which she has baked for us kids at Easter sponge cake bunnies.

Iceman - Eismann

Knots in Wool - Knoten in der Wolle

Ich hasse das! Das hier ist zwar ein uraltes Wollknäuel, aber leider schon der etwa vierte oder fünfte Knoten. Gut, vor 20 Jahren war man vielleicht noch nicht so weit, einen einwandfreien Endlosstrang zu machen. Aber auch in neu gekauften Knäuel kommt immer wieder mal ein Knoten vor. In der modernen Wollverarbeitung muss es doch möglich sein, dass die Enden irgendwie miteinander verwebt oder verfilzt werden. Bei Knoten habe ich immer Angst, dass sie aufgehen könnten, daher schneide ich sie raus und vernähe die Enden. Wie macht ihr das?

I hate that! This is indeed an ancient ball of wool but unfortunately the approximately fourth or fifth knot. Well, 20 years ago they were perhaps not ready to make a proper continuous strand. But also in newly purchased balls every now and then comes a node. In the modern wool industry, it must be possible that the ends are somehow interwoven or felted. I'm always afraid that knots might come loose, so I cut them off and sew in the ends. How do you do it?

Frost Flowers - Eisblumen

Ich schicke euch einen eisigen Blumengruß. Der Frost hat uns fest in der Hand, heute -16°C. Bei meiner Mutter ist die Haustüre eingefroren (oder durch den Frost so verzogen, dass sie sich nicht öffnen lässt). Sie kann aber noch durch die Garage das Haus verlassen. Ich kann mich noch an schulfreie Tage erinnern, weil die Schulheizung bei -30°C den Geist aufgegeben hat. Also ich will's mal nicht verschreien. Ich hoffe ihr habt ein warmes kuscheliges Plätzchen zum Aussitzen der Eiszeit.

She can still leave the house through the garage. I remember of non-school days because the school heating system failed at -22F. So I don’t want to speak too soon! Flying Carpets - Fliegende Teppiche

Jetzt kommt die Erklärung für mein schmerzendes Handgelenk. Mit den bereits erwähnten Strickschnüren häkle ich Teppiche und das ist mit der Zeit wirklich anstrengend. Als Näherin ist man das gar nicht mehr gewöhnt und bevor ich mir eine Sehnenscheidenentzündung einfange, mache ich mal gaaaaz laaaangsam.
Also, nun zur Vorgeschichte. Diesen Teppich hatte ich schon vor etwa 20 Jahren gemacht und fliegt seitdem mit mir herum. Vor 4 Jahren haben wir unseren Hund bekommen und da war's um ihn geschehen. Genau in der Mitte hat er rumgebissen. Lange hat's mich gestört und jetzt habe ich ihn wieder aufgeribbelt. 

Now this is the explanation for my aching wrist. With the before mentioned i-cords I crochet rugs and that is getting hard when I work some time. As a seamstress I am not used to it and before I get tendinitis I work very slow with lots of breaks.

So, now the story. This carpet I had already made about 20 years ago and since then it flies around with me. 4 years ago we got our dog and that was not good for the rug. I-Cord Maker - Strickmühle

Mein Handgelenk knackt und brennt, nur damit ihr nicht glaubt, ich mach nichts. Aber dazu komme ich in ein paar Tagen. Jetzt möchte ich euch ein Lieblingsteil meiner Jugend vorstellen. Meine Strickmühle, die nun schon an die 25 Jahre alt ist. 

My wrist cracks and burns, just in case you think I'll do nothing. But I will get to in a few days. Now I would like to introduce you to a favorite tool of my youth. My knitting mill (sorry I don’t know how you call it in english), which I got now for over 25 years.

Name Tag - Namensschildchen

Zur Musiktasche gibt's auch noch Namensschildchen dazu. Ich wollte zwei Sachen ausprobieren, zum einen solche Buttons machen, zum anderen das Freihandnähen. Nachdem ich mal die Gebrauchsanweisung meiner Uraltnähmaschine studiert habe und die notwendigen Maßnahmen für Stopfen vorgenommen hatte (dieses Teil hatte ich vorher noch nie verwendet), war es wirklich ganz einfach. Natürlich macht Übung den Meister.

Additional to the music bag I made name tags. I wanted to try two things, one is making buttons, the other is free-motion sewing. After I once studied the instructions of my very old sewing machine and had made the necessary settings for darning (never used that part before), it was really quite simple. Of course practice makes perfect.

Music Bag - Musiktasche

Das ist jetzt noch die Tasche für die Musikschule für mein Patenkind. Die Flötentasche habe ich ihr schon gegeben und sie gefiel. Der grün-weiß gestreifte Stoff ist aus dem Nachlass der verstorbenen Oma meines Patenkindes. Ihre Mutter schenkte ihn mir, weil sie wusste, dass ich Stoff immer brauchen kann. So kommt er als Erinnerung an die Omi zurück. Der violette Stoff der Flötentasche war ein Vorhang im Zimmer der Schwester meines Patenkindes. Ich habe ihn eingefärbt und auch schon mal DIESE Tasche für meine Freundin genäht. Meine Freundin liebt Dinge mit Geschichte oder einem persönlichen Bezug. Wer nicht? Einmal gab sie mir ein Stück Stoff, damit ich ihr daraus eine Badetasche nähe. 1m Stoff handgefärbt und bedruckt von ihrer an Krebs verstorbenen Schwester. Ihr könnt euch wohl vorstellen, dass ich mir jeden Schnitt 3 x (eher noch öfter) überlegt habe. Wenn ich es versemmel, dann hat sie Schnipsel als Erinnerung an ihre Schwester. Hat aber geklappt und sie ist überglücklich mit der Tasche. Leider habe ich damals keine Fotos gemacht. 
Stoffe mit Geschichte - Habt ihr auch schon mal welche verarbeitet?

This is now the bag for the music school for my godchild. I've already given her the flute bag and she liked it. The green and white striped fabric is from the estate of the deceased grandmother of my godchild. Her mother gave it to me because she knew that I always need material. So the fabric comes back as a reminder to granny. The purple fabric of the flute bag was a curtain in the room of my godchild's sister. I've dyed it and  sewed THIS bag for my girlfriend. My girlfriend loves things with a story or a personal reference. Who does not? Once she gave me a piece of fabric to sew a beach bag. 1 yard fabric hand-dyed and printed by her sister died of cancer. You can imagine that I hesitated to cut into that precious piece of fabric. If I make a mistake then my friend has snippets in memory of her sister. But it has worked out fine and she is overjoyed with the bag. Unfortunately I didn’t make pictures.

Warm Front

Tja, die Warmfront, die heute Nacht in unser Land zog (und mir wieder Kopfschmerzen brachte) hat sich leider schlimm auf unseren Schneemann ausgewirkt. Eigentlich ist es eine Schneefrau, da meine Kleine unbedingt einen Busen dran machen wollte.

Flute Bag - Flötentasche

Mein Patenkind brauchte ein Mäntelchen für ihre Blockflöte. Die Hülle ist mit dickem Volumenvlies gefüttert und mit einem Klett zu verschließen. Ihr hat's gut gefallen.

My godchild needed a cloak for her recorder. I lined the cover with thick batting and the closure is with velcro. She liked it.

Flower Day - Heute mal Blümchen

Meine Amaryllis (Ritterstern/Hippeastrum) ist schon beinahe 10 Jahre alt. Jedes Jahr treibt sie wieder im Jänner aus (jetzt hätte ich fast "kalter Jänner" geschrieben - heute +10°). Sie hat sogar schon Kinder bekommen, aber die blühen noch nicht.

My amaryllis (Hippeastrum) is nearly 10 years old. Every year it blooms in January (now I almost wrote "cold January" - today 50F). It got even children but they do not bloom yet. 

Sky Scarf

Diese Idee habe ich vor einigen Tagen im Internet gesehen und geht mir seitdem nicht mehr aus dem Kopf, also zeige ich euch das mal. Das ist ein Jahresschal, den man am 1. Jänner eines Jahres beginnt (also beginnen kann man jederzeit damit). Jeden Tag strickt man eine Reihe in der Farbe des Himmels, so wie er sich gerade präsentiert, wenn man aus dem Fenster schaut. Ich finde das so cool, wenn man sagen kann: "Das ist der 2012-er Schal und so war das Wetter damals". Leider habe ich den Beitrag zu spät gesehen, vielleicht denke ich ja am Jahresende an dieses Projekt.

I've seen this idea a few days ago in the net and since then it is in my mind, so I will show you. This is an annual scarf, you start on January 1st (but you can start at any time with it). Every day you knit a row in the color of the sky like it is at the moment when you look out of your window. I think that's so cool when you can say: "This is the scarf of 2012 and the weather was like that." Unfortunately, I have seen the post too late, maybe I think of this project at New Year’s Eve.
