Happy Holidays - Frohes Fest

Die Keksdose ist leer. Normalerweise kein Drama, weil bei uns die Kekse in der Adventszeit gegessen werden und ab Weihnachten gibt's dann die Leckereien vom Christbaum. Aber das Töchterlein hat heute Weihnachtsfeier in der Klasse und die Lehrerin bat alle Kinder, Kekse mitzunehmen. Also glühte gestern Abend nochmal das Backrohr. Und somit wünsche ich euch allen Frohe Weihnachten und gemütliche Feiertage! Habt eine schöne Zeit! 

The cookie jar is empty. Normally, no drama, because with us the cookies are eaten during Advent and from Christmas Eve then there are the goodies from the Christmas tree. But my girlie has today Christmas celebration in class and the teacher asked all the children to bring cookies. So last night the baking oven was working again. Meine Täschchen sind fertig. Fertig zum Verschenken. Die neue Nähmaschine ist echt ein Traum und näht auch die dicken Teile supergut.

My Creative Space - Was mache ich gerade

Bei mir war das Christkind schon früher da und brachte mir eine neue Nähmaschine mit und zwar eine Pfaff Ambition Essential. Meine erste Pfaff. Um sie besser kennen zu lernen, nähe ich gerade wattierte Täschchen. Bis jetzt bin ich ganz hin und weg. Nach 25 Jahren auf einer Elna ist das jetzt meine zweite Haushaltsnähmaschine und es näht sich wirklich klasse. 

Christkindl was already here with me and brought me a new sewing machine, a Pfaff Ambition Essential. My first Pfaff. In order to get to know the machine, I sew padded bags. Until now, I'm entranced. After 25 years on an Elna this is my second home sewing machine and working with it is really great.

Und die Verpackung der Nähmaschine hatte auch noch einen Zweck, nachdem ich mir von der Schachtel das Infolabel raus geschnitten hatte. Unsere Katze "Hello Kitty" schaute gleich mal nach, ob man da gut drin schlafen konnte. Ja, man konnte. 

And the packaging of the sewing machine also had a purpose after I had cut the information label from the box. Our cat "Hello Kitty" immediately made it her home.

Nightdress No2 - Nachthemd Nr. 2

Ganz geheim habe ich ein 2. Nachthemd für mein Mäderl genäht. Das kommt unter den Christbaum, den wir gestern schon besorgt haben. Das war übrigens lustig und wahrscheinlich einmalig im Leben. Wir kommen zum Baumverkauf und da liegen hunderte mehr oder weniger auf einem Haufen. Ich schau so rum und sag zum Mann: "Halt den mal hoch". Wow schön!. "Dreh mal rundherum." Wow. Immer noch schön. "Passt! Den nehmen wir." Mein Mann glaubte, ich wollte ihn ver... albern. Aber es war so, der erste passte und wir waren in 3 Minuten fertig. 
Doch wir waren eigentlich beim Nachthemd. Ich habe wieder den Schnitt Raglanshirt basic No. 29 von lillesol & pelle verwendet, weil der so gut passte. Neu ist nur der Eulenjersey von buttinette, die anderen Stoffe sind Reste. Die Kanten habe ich teilweise nach außen verarbeitet und auch den hinteren Halsausschnitt habe ich wieder verstürzt. Die Ärmel habe ich schön lang gelassen, damit sich in der Nacht nichts hochschiebt. Fotos am Kind gibt's leider nicht, weil es soll ja eine Überraschung werden. 

I have secretly sewn a 2nd nightgown for my girlie. This one comes under the Christmas tree, which we have by the way bought yesterday. Incidentally, that was funny and probably unique in life. We came to the tree sale and there were hundreds of trees more or less on a pile. I looked around and said to my husband: "Put up that one". Wow beautiful!. "Turn around." Wow. Still nice. "Fine. That's the one we take." My husband thought I would be kidding. But I was serious, the first one fits and we were done in 3 minutes.
But we were actually talking about the nightgown. I have again used the cut Raglanshirt basic No. 29 used from Lillesol & pelle, because it fits so well. The jersey with owls is from buttinette, the other fabrics are remnants. Unfortunately no photos on the child because it is supposed to be a surprise.

St. Nicholas - Hl. Nikolaus  (Wikipedia Links)

Ein geliebter Feiertag von Groß und Klein. Vielleicht, weil er auf wahren Tatsachen beruht. Wir verbringen den Abend immer bei einer befreundeten Familie, weil dort der Nachbar den Nikolaus spielt. Das ist immer sehr nett und den Kindern gefällt es. 

Vor vielen, vielen Jahren

Er war geliebt von groß und klein,

denn alle wollte er erfreu'n.

A beloved holiday for big and small. Perhaps because it is based on true facts. We always spend the evening at a friend's house, because there the neighbor plays St. Nicholas. It's always very nice and the kids love it.

The First Candle - Die erste Kerze

Die erste Kerze brennt schon! Wieso kommt der 1. Adventsonntag immer so überraschend schnell? Man weiß doch wann er ist. Dieses Jahr ist unser Adventkranz wieder ganz schlicht und gekauft, in ein großes Glas gepackt und Wasser reingefüllt. Ich will mal testen, ob der Kranz dann genauso schnell nadelt. Rundherum habe ich weiße gehäkelte Schneeflocken aufgehängt. Wen die Anleitung interessiert, klickt HIER. Es sind zwei verschiedene Schneeflocken, groß und klein.

The first candle is already burning! Why is the 1st Sunday of Advent always turning up so surprisingly fast? One knows when it is. Viennese Christmas Market - Wiener Christkindlmarkt

Nach vielen, vielen Jahren besuchten wir gestern wieder mal den Wiener Christkindlmarkt am Rathausplatz. Und es war wunderschön. Meine Kleine war ganz hingerissen. 

After many, many years we visited yesterday again the Vienna Christmas Market at Town Hall Square. And it was beautiful. My girlie was completely entranced.

Fresh Fish - Frischer Fisch

Zweimal im Jahr machen wir einen Ausflug ins Nachbartal zum Gut Dornau (tolles Video auf der Homepage). Dort kann man freitags frische Fische kaufen. Wir entschieden uns für Forellen und geräucherten Saibling. Der Gutshof liegt inmitten einer Parkanlage mit riesigen alten Platanen. Ich habe selten woanders derartige Baumriesen gesehen. Wunderschön! 

Twice a year we take a trip into the next valley to Dornau manor (watch the video). There you can buy fresh fish on Fridays. We opted for trout and smoked char. The estate is surrounded by a park with huge plane-trees. I have rarely seen elsewhere such giant trees. Beautiful!

Zum Mittagessen gab es natürlich gleich gebratene Forelle mit Knoblauch und Butter. Sehr lecker!

For lunch we had of course fried trout with garlic and butter. Very tasty!

Amaryllis - Ritterstern

Meine Amaryllis habe ich schon viele Jahre, sogar Kinder hat die Zwiebel schon bekommen. Und sie sind so pflegeleicht, dass sie auch mich "Zimmerpflanzenkiller" überstehen. Nach so langer Zeit des braven Blühens haben sie sich neue frische Erde verdient. Bei dem schönen warmen Novemberwetter habe ich auf der Terrasse umgetopft. 

I have my Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) for many years, the bulb even got children. And they are so easy to care for, even for me "houseplants killer". After such a long time of flowering they honestly earned new fresh soil. In the beautiful warm November sun I repotted on the terrace.

Operation Christmas Child - Weihnachten im Schuhkarton

Ich möchte euch an diese Aktion erinnern. Es ist noch bis zum 15.11. Zeit seinen Schuhkarton zu packen. Wie jedes Jahr seit Jahren stehen auch unsere Kartons (für ein Mädchen und einen Buben) seit zwei Wochen auf dem Tisch und wir geben immer wieder Dinge dazu. Mein persönlicher Beitrag dieses Jahr sind ein Mädchen Loop und ein Schal für einen Jungen. 

I would like to remind you of this charity project. There is one week left to pack one's shoebox. Like every year for years our shoeboxes (for a girl and a boy) stand on the table for two weeks and we always put things into them. My personal contribution this year are a girl's loop and scarf for a boy.

A Lovely Walk - Ein schöner Spaziergang

Der November beginnt so schön wie der Oktober endete. Die Sonne lockte uns zu einem schönen Spaziergang rund um den Teich von Schloss Hernstein.

Butternut Squash Lasagna - Kürbis-Lasagne

Zur Kürbis Hochsaison kommt auch von mir unser liebstes Kürbisrezept. Man kann jeden Kürbis dafür verwenden und das Rezept natürlich auch vegan abwandeln. Ich mache diese Lasagne mit dem süßlichen Butternusskürbis und mit Faschiertem (Hackfleisch) vom Rind. Lasagne ist für mich jedenfalls ein relativ zeitaufwändiges Essen und deshalb kommt es eher selten auf den Tisch. Die Fleisch-Kürbis-Fülle wird vorgekocht und auch die Bechamelsauce mache ich selbst. 

It's pumpkin season and this is our family's favorite squash recipe. You can use any squash for it and of course modify the recipe into vegan. I make this lasagna with sweet butternut squash and minced beef. Lasagna is for me a rather time-consuming food and therefore, it is rare on the table. The meat and pumpkin filling is pre-cooked and also the bechamel I make myself. 

Making Playcards - Spielkarten machen

Eines unserer Lieblingsspiele ist Elfenland. Keine Ahnung warum, aber vom Hersteller sind nicht alle auf dem Plan aufgezeichneten Städte als Spielkarten vorhanden (jedenfalls in unserer alten Version). Unsere 9-jährige spielt aber immer besser, daher haben wir uns ein paar neue Regeln und zusätzliche Spielzüge ausgedacht. Um das Spiel weiter auszubauen, habe ich jetzt auch die restlichen Städte als Spielkarten dazu gemacht. Scannen, Bildbearbeitung, Ausschneiden und Laminieren. Jetzt kann der Spaß weiter gehen.

One of our favorite board games is Elfenland (Pixieland). No idea why, but the manufacturer did not make playing cards from all the cities on the board (at least in our old version). But our 9 year old girlie plays better and better, so we've come up with some new rules and additional moves. To further expand the game, I have now made ​​the remaining cities as playing cards too. Scanning, image editing, cutting and laminating. Now the fun can continue.

Nightgown For The Girl - Nachthemd fürs Mädchen

Die Omi wollte dem Mädel zum Geburtstag ein Nachthemd schenken. Einzige Vorgabe vom Kind: gaaanz laaang und mit Sternen. Nach einigen Tagen rief die Omi entnervt an, dass sie sowas im Geschäft nicht findet und ich das besorgen soll. OK. Ich rief das Mädchen und wir suchten online die Stoffe aus, den Schnitt Raglanshirt basic No. 29 von lillesol & pelle hatte ich schon ausgedruckt hier liegen. Den habe ich einfach verlängert.  

Grandma wanted to give the girl for birthday a new nightgown. The only conditions of the child: very looong and with stars. After a few days grandma called annoyed that she can not find something properly in the store and I should get that nightdress. OK. I called the girl and we searched online fabrics. I already got a pattern from lillesol & pelle. 

Sonntagsausflug - Sunday Trip

Gestern mittag entschlossen wir ganz spontan uns ins Auto zu setzen und irgendwo hinzufahren, um das traumhafte Herbstwetter zu genießen. Mein Mann kommt aus Kärnten, um dahin zu kommen, benutzen wir immer die S6, die Semmering Schnellstraße mit ihren unzähligen Tunnel und Brücken. Immer, wenn wir über den Talübergang Schottwien fahren, denk ich mir: Da will ich mal drunter durch fahren. Und das haben wir gestern auch gemacht. 

Yesterday afternoon we decided spontaneously to make a trip by car to enjoy the wonderful fall weather. My husband comes from Carinthia, to get there we always use the S6 Semmering highway with its numerous tunnels and bridges. Whenever we drive over Schottwien Bridge, I think to myself: I want to see the bridge from below. And we did it yesterday.

Wir sind dann weiter nach Maria Schutz gefahren, wo man eine traumhafte Aussicht hat auf den Talübergang und den Schneeberg hat. In ein paar Tagen wird er seinem Namen wieder gerecht, denn Mitte der Woche soll es schneien.

IKEA Hack Sniglar Wickeltisch

Ihr kennt vielleicht die Seite IKEA Hackers? Wir haben kürzlich auch ein Ikea Möbel quasi gehackt, nämlich was ganz anderes draus gemacht. Ich wollte schon lange eine Hundehütte für unseren Mischlingshund Benno (Größe etwa kniehoch), aber alle die es zu kaufen gab, waren entweder urteuer, mit Holzschutz behandelt oder so wie ich sie nicht mochte. Eine Hundehütte zu bauen, ist für meinen Mann kein Problem (außer Zeitproblem!), aber es sollte ratzfatz gehen, an einem Nachmittag fertig sein. Also hielt ich Ausschau nach einem kleinen Tisch, wo man nur Bretter anschrauben musste. Fündig wurde ich bei Ikea. Der Sniglar Wickeltisch ist unbehandelt und von der Größe her ideal. Von einem anderen Projekt hatten wir noch unbehandelte Holzpaneele, die mein Mann zuschnitt und an drei Seiten anschraubte. Oben haben wir jetzt eine praktische Ablage und der Katzenkorb hat auch noch Platz. Unser Hund Benno ist überglücklich und saß schon in der Hütte, während mein Mann noch die Bretter anschraubte. 

You might know the site IKEA Hackers? We have recently hacked an Ikea furniture, we made ​​something else out of it. I always wanted a dog house for our half breed dog Benno (size about knee high), but all I could find in stores was either very expensive or treated with wood preservatives or I did not like it. To build a dog house is not a problem for my husband (except time problem!) but it should go rather quickly and be done in an afternoon. So I looked for a small table where you just had to screw boards on it. I made a find at Ikea. The SNIGLAR diaper-changing table is untreated and ideal in size. Left over from another project we had untreated wood panels that my husband properly cut and screwed on three sides. Above we now have a practical storage and the cat basket has also space. Our dog Benno is overjoyed and was sitting in his house, while my husband still screwed on the boards.

Modifications - Änderungen

Mich ärgert es total, wenn ich ein Shirt kaufe und nach der 1. Wäsche ist es breiter und kürzer. Ich sag ja schon nichts mehr, wenn die Nähte verdreht sind, wenn das Shirt trotzdem passt. Aber wenn meine Nieren rausschauen, das geht gar nicht. Heute hab ich mich hingesetzt und unten ein Bündchen dran genäht. Verwendet habe ich ein alten weißes T-Shirt, das ich doppelt genommen habe. Jetzt ist es lang genug und die Breite habe ich auch etwas einbehalten. Passt! 

It's annoying, if I buy a shirt and after the first washing, it is wider and shorter. I say nothing, if the seams are twisted when the shirt still fits. But it is not OK when my kidneys get cold. Today I took the time and sewed a wristband around. I used an old white t-shirt, which I doubled. Now it is long enough and I tamed the width. Fits!

Birthday Party - Kindergeburtstag

Für den 9. Geburtstag meiner Tochter habe ich als Gastgeschenke für die Mädels kleine Säcke genäht. Irgendwann habe ich mal ziemliche viele Meter von diesem rosa Stoff mit Elfen drauf gekauft. Da sollte ich soviel wie möglich los werden bevor rosa total out ist bei den Mädchen. 

For the 9th birthday of my daughter I sewed small bags as party favors for the girls. I once bought quite a lot of meters/yards from this pink fabric with fairies on it. I should use as much as possible from this fabric before pink is going to be a totally no-go for the girls.

Wrist Cuffs - Armstulpen

Ich habe mich an gerüschten Stulpen versucht. Sie sind toll geworden und sehen total romantisch aus. Bin gerade dabei das Spitzenmuster noch etwas zu optimieren, aber ansonsten bin ich mit dem Werk zufrieden. 

I tried to knit ruffled cuffs. They have become great and look totally romantic. I'm just about to optimize the lace pattern, but otherwise I'm satisfied with the work.

Homemade Apple Juice - Hausgemachter Apfelsaft

Als wir unser Haus vor 12 Jahren kauften, war eine große Obstbaumwiese mit vielen Apfelbäumen dabei. So viele Äpfel kann man nicht essen, verkochen, verschenken oder lagern. Es war bald klar, dass wir uns eine Obstpresse anschaffen werden. In einem guten Apfeljahr bekommen wir 130 Liter Apfelsaft raus und in einem schlechten immerhin auch noch 70 Liter. Mit dem auch selbstgemachten Holunderblütensirup und dem Marillen- und Pfirsichnektar brauchen wir keine zusätzlichen Getränke außer Mineralwasser kaufen. 

When we bought our house 12 years ago, a large orchard with many apple trees was there. We can not eat, prepare and fix, give away or keep that many apples. It was soon clear that we will buy a fruit press. In a good apple year we get out 130 liters of apple juice and in a bad after all still 70 liters. With the also homemade elderflower syrup and apricot and peach nectar we do not need to buy any additional drinks, except bottled sparkling mineral water.

Butternut Squash

Die letzten zwei Tage waren herrlich! So wie man sich schönes Herbstwetter vorstellt. Da es aber bald wieder regnerisch werden soll, habe ich schnell unsere Lieblingskürbisse geerntet. Butternuss Kürbisse schmecken süßlich und sind sowohl als Suppe als auch in Kombination mit Faschiertem (Hackfleisch) köstlich. Unser Lieblingsgericht ist Lasagne mit klein gewürfelten Butternuss Kürbis darin. Genießt die schönen Herbsttage!

The last two days were wonderful! Exactly as beautiful autumn weather should be. But since rain comes again, I quickly picked our favorite pumpkins. Butternut squashes taste sweet and are delicious both as a soup or in combination with mince (ground meat). Our favorite dish is lasagna with small diced butternut squash in it. Enjoy the beautiful autumn weather!

In My Shoppingbag - In meinem Einkaufsbeutel

Kürzlich habe ich mal wieder einen Flohmarkt besucht und diese Schüssel ergattert. Ich finde sie mit den Henkeln dran total süß, ich liebe das Muster und die Größe. Sie ist Altrohlauer Porzellan aus der Nähe von Karlsbad (Tschechien).

Recently I once again visited a flea market and get hold of this bowl. I find it so cute with the handles, I also love the pattern and size. It is Altrohlauer porcelain from near Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic).

Und meine neue Liebe habe ich zum Geburtstag bekommen. Einen Saugroboter. Gesehen und beäugt bei meinem Bruder und sofort ins Herz geschlossen. Und nun ist er auch in meinem Haushalt und ich liebe ihn. Wir haben Hund und Katze, aber davon merkt man jetzt nichts mehr.

And my new love I got for my birthday. A robotic vacuum cleaner. Seen and observed in my brother's house and immediately locked in my heart. And now it is in my house too and I love it. We have a dog and a cat but you won't realize.

Birdhouse No3

Nun ist auch das letzte Vogelhäuschen fertig und mein Mädchen hat das ganz toll gemacht. Die Vogelhäuser dienen zur Deko auf der Terrasse, da wird kein echter Vogel einziehen. 
Heute hat die Schule wieder begonnen und es wird ein laaaanges Schuljahr werden, weil die meisten Feiertage auf Wochenenden fallen und Schulstart und -ende jeweils auf dem frühesten und dem spätesten Termin liegen. Also auch alle Eltern sollten sich wappnen, dass dieses Schuljahr sich endlos ziehen wird. 

Now the last birdhouse is finished and my girl has done great. The bird houses are used for decoration on the terrace, no real bird will move in.
Today the school has started and it will be a looong school year, because most holidays fall on weekends and both school start and end lie on the earliest and latest date. So all parents should be aware that this school year seems to last forever.

Endlich mal wieder ein Ufo fertig. Diese fingerlosen Handschuhe konnten lange rasten. Aber nun sind sie für die kalte Saison startklar.

Noch knapp zwei Wochen Ferien und das Leben plätschert sooo langsam vor sich hin und ich mag das. Daher gibt's heute nur dies und das und nichts konkretes. 

Mein Mädchen bemalt das letzte Vogelhäuschen, das ich mal vor Jahren gekauft habe. Sie lässt jede Farbe einen Tag trocknen, daher ist sie damit schon Wochen beschäftigt. 

Yet just two weeks holiday and life is going on very slowly and I like that. Hence today's only this and that and nothing concrete.
My girl painted the last bird house I once bought years ago. She lets each color dry a day so therefore this is a job for weeks. 

Kittenberger Erlebnisgärten

Einen Ausflugstipp hab ich noch und zwar die Kittenberger Erlebnisgärten. Das wäre eigentlich mein Muttertagsausflug gewesen, aber damals hat es so stark geregnet, dass wir das verschoben haben. 

One more tip for a day trip are the Kittenberger adventure gardens. That actually should have been my Mother's Day trip but then it has rained so heavy so we postponed it.

Manche Sachen flutschen online in den Einkaufswagen, so schnell kann man gar nicht schauen. Sockenwolle und Stricknadeln. Ich habe eindeutig zu wenig Stricknadeln, ich kann nicht mal UFOs anhäufen, weil ich manchmal nur ein Paar Nadeln habe. Also demnächst gibt's hier auch UFOs ;) 

It is unbelievable how fast things jump into your online shopping cart. Sock yarn and knitting needles. I have clearly not enough knitting needles, I can not even accumulate UFOs, because sometimes I have only one pair of needles. So soon there are also UFOs here ;)

Bratislava in Slovakia

Gestern habe ich zum ersten Mal Bratislava besucht. Und ich bereue, dass ich das nicht schon viel früher gemacht habe. Nur 1 Stunde von Wien entfernt, bequem über die Autobahn erreichbar, eignet es sich hervorragend für einen Tagesausflug, für alle die in der Nähe von Wien leben. Wir sind total verliebt in die Altstadt von Bratislava, die eigentlich wie die Wiener Innenstadt aussieht, nur in Miniaturform. Absolut Zucker!
Was man natürlich schon von Österreich aus sieht, ist die Burg, die hoch über Bratislava thront. Von dort hat man einen herrlichen Ausblick über die Stadt. Empfehlenswert ist eine City Tour, hier mit einem Oldtimer Bus, um sich einen Überblick über die Sehenswürdigkeiten zu machen und das was gefällt, wird dann zu Fuß nochmal in Ruhe besucht. 

Yesterday I visited Bratislava for the very first time. And I regret that I have not done this much earlier. Just 1 hour from Vienna away, easily accessible via the motorway, it is ideal for a day trip for all who are living near Vienna. We are totally in love with the Old Town of Bratislava, which actually looks like the center of Vienna, only in miniature form. Absolutely sugar!
What you can already see from Austria, is the castle, which is built high on the hills around Bratislava. From there you have a magnificent view over the city. I recommend a city tour, here with a vintage bus to get an overview about the sights and what you like visit again by foot.

White Tigers - Weiße Tiger

Im Blog der lieben Rostrose habe ich über weiße Tiger gelesen und beschlossen, dass wir da auch hin müssen. Heute war es soweit. Mein Mann hat Urlaub und zum Weißen Zoo ist es nicht so weit. Meine Fotos sind nicht ganz so toll geworden wie die von der Traude, also vielleicht schaut ihr auch bei ihr vorbei. Im April hat eines der zwei Weibchen Fünflinge bekommen, die man heute alle im Außengehege bewundern durfte. Ich hab aber nur vier auf das Foto bekommen. Auf dem Foto rechts unten sieht man den Papa Tiger mit dem anderen Weibchen. Alle Besucher waren total entzückt. Weiße Tiger sind keine Albinos (die hätten sonst rote Augen), sondern Tiger mit einem Gendefekt und sie haben hellblaue Augen. In der Natur müssten sie verhungern, weil sie sich durch ihr Fell nicht tarnen können und ihre Beute immer gewarnt wäre. 

At the blog of lovely Rostrose rust I have read about white tigers and decided to visit the zoo too. Today it was the time. My husband is on vacation and the White Zoo is not so far away. My photos are not that great as of Rostrose, so maybe you click over to her. In April, one of the two female tiger became quintuples and we could see and admire them all in the outdoor preserve today. But I get only four on the photo. In the photo below right you can see Daddy Tiger with the other female. All visitors were totally delighted. White tigers are not albinos (who would otherwise have red eyes), but tiger with a genetic defect and they have bright blue eyes. In nature they would starve to death because they can not disguise due to their fur and their prey would always be warned.

Sunday Sweets - Sonntagssüß

Heute gibt es Marillenkuchen mit Mürbteigboden. Ich machte ein paar Änderungen, weil ich mit dem Vorlieb nehmen musste, was da war. Statt Schlagobers (süße Sahne) nahm ich Sauerrahm und statt Mandeln geriebene Walnüsse. Und ich schnippelte noch Klaräpfel dazu. Schmeckt echt lecker!

Today we have apricot pie with shortcrust. I made a few changes because I didn't have some of the ingredients. Instead of whipped cream (sweet cream) I took sour cream and grated walnuts instead of almonds. And I added some diced apples to the apricots. It tastes really yummy!

Bracelet Fever - Armband Fieber

Bei uns sind jetzt schon drei Wochen Ferien vorbei (noch fünf vor uns) und wir genießen die Zeit sehr. Wir stecken voll in der Marillenernte, die dieses Jahr wieder enorm gut ausfällt. Und mein Mädchen liebt immer noch ihre Gummiringerl-Armbänder. Jeder bekommt ein Armband, ob er/sie will oder nicht.

Now three weeks holidays are over (another five ahead) and we enjoyed the time very much. We are fully occupied with apricot harvest, which again is tremendously well this year. And my girl still loves her Rainbow Looms. Everyone gets a bracelet, if he/she wants it or not.

Shawlette Blue Lagoon

Blue Lagoon ist der Name der Wolle und das Tuch ist auch schon wieder eine Zeit lang fertig. Wolle ist wieder von Drops, so wie auch das Spitzenmuster. Mehr davon könnt ihr auf meiner Ravelry Seite lesen. Irgendwie bin ich etwas vernarrt in diese Tücher und in die tolle Wolle.

Blue Lagoon is the name of the yarn and the shawl is already a while finished. Yarn is from Drops, as well as the lace pattern. Find some more infos on my Ravelry site. Seems that I am kind of addicted to this shawlette pattern and to the fabulous wool.

Work In Progress

Der Sommer macht gerade Pause, aber das Kind möchte ja trotzdem beschäftigt werden. Auch bei uns sind die Gummiringerl eingezogen oder auch Rainbow Looms genannt. Meine Kleine liebt es. Und sie probiert auch Bilder zu sticken. Ich habe das als Kind geliebt. Klappt schon etwas, aber da muss ich noch viel mithelfen. Und auch mein Projekt habe ich begonnen. Die Wolle war in einem Überraschungspaket von Buttinette dabei und will auch mal verarbeitet werden. Wird aber kein Pulli ;)

Summer is doing a break but the child still wants to be entertained. We are also addicted to these funny rubber bands the so called Rainbow Looms. My little one loves it. And she tries embroidery. I have loved stitching these templates as a child. She makes it fine but I still have to help a lot. And I started my project. However, it is not a sweater ;)
