Jeans Geldtasche - Denim Wallet
My daughter's old wallet fell apart and I felt like sewing a new one myself. I enjoyed playing with denim, old labels and decorative ribbons. Sometimes I thought that my little machine couldn't manage the many shifts, but together we mastered the challenge and I'm more than happy with the result. And my daughter too :)

12tel Blick 2020 - September
Lecker!
Oops, now September is already over. New school in town for the daughter, was exciting and thrilling. As a parent, you always worry too much. The kids get it right and are so cool.
Bending down is the order of the day in the garden. Apples, plums, pears and walnuts are lying on the ground and want to be picked up. In the picture, my two loved ones are just collecting apples. We press apples and pears to make apple juice. This year is another good harvest year and we will be bottling over 100 liters of apple juice. Delicious!

12tel Blick 2020 - August
Hey guys, it's August. Crazy! August passed me by. We were really in vacation mode and did a lot and nothing. It was sometimes really hot, if it only lasts a few days, then I think that's nice too. We had summer thunderstorms every 3 days. Also violent, sometimes with hail, but there was almost no damage. Only the zucchini leaves have been perforated, but the season is almost over. I almost never had to water the garden and it is green here, as it has not been in August for years.

DIY: Upcycling Schrank - Closet
Although my 14-year-old daughter is already mostly doing herself, I would like to do a joint project with her during the 9 weeks of school holidays, apart from vacation. This time we pimped up an old wardrobe because she no longer wanted her open shelves. When we bought our house, the previous owners (with our consent) left some of their old closets in the house and I put the winter coats in there in the summer. The closets were old, broken, veneered, gnawed and shabby, but real wood, or do you say solid wood. So it didn't matter if we screwed them up, they were junk anyway. But we didn't, it turned out so great, we are all completely in love with the closet.

Wimpelkette - Pennant Chain
Many years ago a friend had given me some upholstery fabric sample cards (I have no idea whether these words exist and whether these things are called that way). Recently while tidying up (no, actually I was looking for something else) found it again and threw it in the garbage can in the sewing room. Well and only minutes or hours later I knew exactly what to do with it. And I made a pennant chain, not for me, but for the friend I got the stuff from. She cleared her huge carport (open inside the garden fence, bricked on the two outer sides, parking space for at least two cars and 10 bicycles) because she was tired of leaving the unfortunately uncovered terrace with every rain shower. Equipped with garden furniture and old sofas and cupboards for dishes, looks like an outdoor living room and is very cozy. The pennant chain would do quite well there. Maybe I can deliver photos later.

12tel Blick 2020 - Juli
Bleibt gesund!
I just can't believe July is over. We totally enjoyed it. We have a very large covered terrace and can also be outside when it rains. I have been reading a lot since the lockdown in March. I've always read a lot, but now that I've made friends with my e-book reader, I can't stop it. Right away I would say over 30 books. I'll tell you about it. Fortunately, I have a 14-year-old daughter who has to learn how household works anyway 😄
There is not much to say about the July picture, except that my husband photobombed the picture. Hehe, no it was intentionally. Actually I wanted to take a picture of a thunderstorm, but then it was more comfortable in the house at that moment. I can take bad weather pictures in winter. We have school holidays all August and I wish you a nice time. Stay healthy!

Lipizzanergestüt Piber - Lipizzaner Stud Farm Piber
Sommerferien. Eigentlich war Schottland gebucht. Aber was soll's.
Summer holidays. Scotland was actually booked. But whatever. We made a trip to Styria and visited the Lipizzaner Stud Farm in Piber. This is where the famous Lipizzaner horses, who show their skills in the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, are born. And what can I say to you, except that we were completely thrilled. Cuteness overload :) You can also watch short videos on my Instagram account.

Blüte und Falter - Blossom and Butterfly
Do you also have the feeling that summer is not in the mood this year? I just put on my socks and sweater because the wind is so cold. My zucchini plants look pitiful, so I won't trouble you with pictures. But I can report two nice things.

12tel Blick 2020 - Juni
June started as cold as May ends, but then summer started to gaim momentum. Not all roses accepted my cutting measures so well. Only two of the 5 or 6 bushes bloom. Also the soil plants under the roses did not work as planned. Since the bed is on the hill, I can hardly water. It is not possible to drag water up there more often. Unfortunately it was not raining at the time and the plants between the rose bushes dried out. I think I have to look for something much more frugal, but at the same time strongly and densely growing that it permanently displaces the grass. Ideas? I thought of thyme. What do you mean?

My daughter is 14 years old now and over time three bathrobes have treasured up. Last weekend I felt like spending time on what to do with it and I already had some ideas. There are many suggestions on the Internet, but I didn't need any cuddly toys or towels. I had three children's robes and 8 things ran out that we could need and use.

My daughter (14) explained my cell phone to me again. Are your teenagers the same? I'm glad about it, but I could do without the instructive tone and the rolling eyes. Specifically, it is about "manual autofocus" and the blurring effects achieved with it. I love the automatic in cameras and cell phones, but sometimes I remember the extras and something nice comes out of it.

Ausflug aufs Hocheck - Mount Hocheck
I hope you spent Mother’s Day beautifully. We made a trip to Mount Hocheck (1037 m/3402 ft), the most northeastern peak of the Alps over 1000 meters. At the summit there is also the 13 m high Meyringer lookout tower, which is freely accessible. There is also a mountain lodge and restaurant there, but it is currently closed due to Corona virus. That's why we brought everything for a picnic.

Hauswurz - Houseleek
Oh I love houseleek! Once you have them in the house, they provide you with new plants. Yesterday it was time to plant a potty again. I bought the pot from a school bazaar and it was actually a bird feeder. However, it has long been empty and has found its intended purpose.

12tel Blick 2020 - April
April turns everything green! And it blooms! A dream! The start of the gardening season was somewhat difficult due to the corona crisis. Our lawn tractor did not start after the winter season (empty battery) and both hardware shops and workshops were closed. When the repair finally was done, the grass was already quite high, but the mower just barely made it.

Patchwork Tischdecke - Patchwork Tablecloth
I have a small table for the garden, which I use to put down my coffee cup, book and glasses. But the table top has gaps between the boards and my glasses always slip between them. So a tablecloth is needed. All I have are much too big and I already had an idea with many shades of green and I wanted to do patchwork for a long time.

Einen Monat zuhause - One Month at Home
We are at home because of the corona virus for a month and I still find the house arrest with my two loved ones like a pretty long weekend. With a house and garden in the countryside, that's easy to say. We do a lot of gardening and enjoy the nice weather. And yet, cursed six weeks ago, we are now grateful for smartphones and the Internet. It makes communication with the outside world much easier.

12tel Blick 2020 - März
I would have liked to show you a picture where the area would have been tidier, but the current ban on social life also affects us in our oasis of calm. The materials depot of the community is closed, like everything else, and we cannot dispose our green waste. So everything is still lying around and my husband is currently separating the branches from the trunk so that we can process them further in the shredder. It will take some time but I hope the area will not look so wild next month.

Tasche für Haustier-Impfpass - Pouch for Pet ID and Passport
We have a dog and a cat and we always look for their vaccination cards before visiting the vet. I wanted to sew a pouch for this for years. It is clear that I want to do this right now, where there are movement restrictions due to corona virus and I can not buy fabric. Apart from the fact that the shops are closed. I couldn't get this out of my head for days, so creative thinking is required. I rummaged through my daughter's old clothes collection bags, because there must be kittens and doggie T-shirts. And so it was.

12tel Blick 2020 - Februar
Also reichlich Arbeit.
When it was snowing one day in February, I dashed up our hill to get a picture with an inch of snow. Unfortunately, two things happened: 1. The storms or our dog put away the stick that I had laid on the meadow as a marker. And 2. I had no longer saved my January photo on my cell phone. So I took many, many pictures from different positions, to get hopefully the right position. Unfortunately I didn't get it. I noticed that when choosing the photo. Well, I have to do better next month.
What has happened in the meantime: Of course I haven't done anything on the beds yet. But due to the mild temperatures, my husband started to cut the wild hedge. There is a broken chain-link fence between the properties, but the gardens are actually separated from the neighbors by hazel trees, wild roses and other shrubbery. The hazel trees grow like crazy and become tall trees within a few years. To see on the right edge of the picture, that still has to go. My husband just doesn't feel like trimming the hedge every year and does it now every 4-5 years. He has to work with a chainsaw anyway, it doesn't matter how thick the tree trunks are. The trimmings are now on the meadow and still have to be removed. The thicker branches and trunks are cut to length and stacked on the house wall. The following year this wood is good to heat the tiled stove. The thinner branches are chopped as much as I need in the garden, everything that is still there comes to the community materials depot. So plenty of work.

Aussichtsturm Geschriebenstein - Lookout Tower

Sunday was wonderful weather, which made us go on a little trip. This time we visited the highest mountain in Burgenland. The Geschriebenstein is 884 meters (2.900 ft) high and there is a lookout on top of it, which was built exactly on the Austrian-Hungarian border. What looks calm and lonely was exactly the second when there were no people in the picture. Because this spot is very popular by families and people with dogs. The viewpoint is in a nature park and a beautiful, plane path leads from the parking area through the forest to the lookout tower.

Oh what I have struggled with the choice for my view this year. We thought back and forth. Yes we, because both husband and daughter get involved. At first I wanted to take my beloved raised beds, but nothing would happen until April or May, because only then would they be sown and planted. Boring. Ultimately, I chose this view because this corner is so neglected. For years. For the foto project I wanted to combine work (weeding) with passion (take pictures) and bring this part back into shape. Let's see how it works.
The view: The direction of view is north. The big white building is the secondary school, our house is at the bottom left and can hardly be seen. If leaves grow, then no more. Vienna is 40 km behind the edge of the forest in the north.

Fingerlose Handschuhe - Fingerless Gloves
Now I have the set finished and my girlie really likes it. The gloves are knitted crosswise and the thumb is also knitted in one go. Brilliant! Knitting is so much fun when you know that you need to sew up only two threads.

Auf ein Neues - Here We Go
I welcome you and the new year! So let's get started. I'm a little late, but New Year's wishes are still all right. There was very little fireworks in our village on New Year's Eve and we enjoyed a sparkler in the garden, so it was very comfy and modest.

12tel Blick 2019 Dezember
Until the last day in December I hoped that snow would come. But unfortunately that was not the case. So this picture shows hoarfrost. Still looks very December. Although it was one of the warmest December, there were a few days where there was some hoarfrost in the morning. In my nightgown I quickly dashed into the garden and took my picture before the sun peeked over the wall.

Selbstgemacht 2019 - DIY 2019
A look back at the past creative year is always very good. My review of the year doesn't look so spectacular, but you only see the things I took photos from. I crocheted some things that are not yet finished and repaired or changed many things. And did some crafty things with my husband and he helped a lot. One of the things that I particularly like about sewing is that everything can be made to fit. A jacket has gotten too wide, handle torn off, pants too long, shirt too wide, a open seam, a tear, an additional pocket, tablecloth too short. Lots of little things which made me happy because I don't have to throw them away, I can repair them.
